American Dance Festival (ADF), Faculty Showing (1995)

A newly arrived faculty member of the American Dance Festival (ADF) Six Week School (1995), this was my introductory showing to all the faculty and students present that summer. In the audience were generations of teachers and choreographers including Donald McKayle, Martha Myers, members of the Alvin Ailey and José Limón, Cunningham, and Hawkins companies. This material, rather than being a dance was intended to be a movement repository, like putting seeds in a seed bank. I ran through my repertoire of developmentally/somatically derived vocabularies—and put them all to music.
